The property known in Taxco as "Cerro de la Mision" (because of the hermitage that exits at the top) was adquired in 1936 for Don José J. Razo. The main idea was building centers for tourists from the North borders down to the South.
In 1936, Elena Razo, before the unfortunately death of her father, gave up her studies in Germany. She came back to her Patria to become the perpetuator of the visionary and monumental work of her father. Despite of her youth, she realized that gigantic work with tenacity and talent.
It is said that faith moves mountains, and in this particular case that exactly what happened. A whole mountain has been removed, not only to set the numerous Posadas dependencies and installations, but also to create a structure with the most pure Mexican lineaments, worthy to detach.
Posada de la Misión, was inaugurated in 1940, and after seventy years still the work. They have positioned it as one of the most successful and surpassing tourist corporation in Guerrero.
Its goal is keep on serving Mexico through tourism.
